BEARZ
Dave Gunstone has a new project planned for 2023, an album featuring female singers. He will also be co-writing a song with Sound Artist Shaun Robert.
BEARZ were formed in 1979 by David Gunstone and John Goddard, they wrote one song each and enlisted the help of Mark Willis on drums and David Lord on Keyboards to record two songs. David Lord produced both songs at Crescent studio in Bath. Originally we were going to be called "The Bears" but when we were offered a record contract we were informed that the name was already in use by another band. Peter Kent suggested using BEARZ, to which we agreed, "She's my girl" and "Girls will do" was released in January 1980 on Axis Records which became 4AD. The single was later released in Italy on WEA Italia in a collection of records "The Sound Of The 80's", that included artists like Visage and Gary Newman.

John Court was Dave Gunstone's guitar tutor. Dave joined the rock band "Black Ice". Later Dave's good friend John became the bands singer. John left "Black Ice" followed by Dave, they then wrote and recorded the songs that became the single, "She's My Girl".
